It’s never too late to send best wishes.  With the closing of 2014, our long-time member, Conrad Schmitt Studios of New Berlin, Wisconsin finished celebrating their 125th year doing business. Founded as a liturgical decorating firm in 1889, the Studio provides a comprehensive scope of architectural arts, including the creation and conservation of stained glass and the decoration and restoration of churches of all sizes and styles throughout the U.S.

Conrad Schmitt Studios, Inc., was founded in Milwaukee, by Conrad Schmitt, the son of Bavarian immigrants. A talented artist and businessman, he quickly built a national reputation for excellent artistry in the ecclesiastic arts. The Studio was purchased by staff artist, Bernard O. Gruenke in 1953 and has since been directed by three generations of the Gruenke family. The Studio is comprised of more than 50 full-time personnel whose specialties and talents range from technical craftsmanship to fine arts.

The Studio assists projects in the early stages to develop a master plan, communicate the vision and equally important, to generate the enthusiasm and funding needed to make the plan a reality.

Recent projects include:

St. John Paul II Chapel at Mundelein Seminary, IL ~ New Stained Glass

St. Peter Catholic Church, Omaha, NE ~ Decorative Painting and Murals

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, New Orleans, LA ~ Stained Glass Conservation

St. Mary Cathedral Basilica, Galveston, TX ~ Decorative Restoration
