    Hello from the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston! We are through the remediation phase post-Harvey and looking toward building back our damaged facilities. 3 of 4 our catastrophically flooded parishes included K-8 schools and we are pursuing FEMA assistance at those properties. We would be interested in talking with anyone who has experience (particularly successful) obtaining FEMA reimbursement under similar circumstances.

    Document everything as they will come back years later to audit you and possibly ask you to return funds.

    While at DFMC last week Lou Baird and I met Staton Vignes of the Sulzer Group. They are a firm which has a niche in writing and managing FEMA grants, disaster response, that will cover their management fees. Lou and I tried to find the “catch” in their system and haven’t found it. Discussion with the CFO from the Diocese of Brooklyn,NY, who used them after Hurricane Sandy was all positive.
