The Felician Sisters of North America are seeking a qualified candidate to perform facilities management and oversight at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Convent in Coraopolis, PA, as well as remotely manage smaller Felician Sisters properties across North America and the Felician Sisters’ automobile fleet.  The successful candidate will not only have the right skills, but will also have the desire to make a real difference in the quality of life of every Felician Sister.

This position reports to the Director of Properties, North America.

Principal duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Overall facility management of the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart convent, a major facility of the Felician Sisters in Coraopolis, PA, as well as 10-15 additional smaller properties across North America. Remote management of the smaller properties will frequently require providing sisters assistance by phone to diagnose problems and determine appropriate solutions. Management of smaller properties may also occasionally require onsite assistance.
  • Oversee management of the Felician Sisters of North America automobile fleet, in conjunction with an outside fleet management vendor.
  • Develops and implements localized business processes that assure cost efficient facility operations and minimize/eliminate unplanned infrastructure and building systems downtime.
  • Assists in the development and management of local facility operating and capital budgets.
  • Develops and implements a maintenance management system to ensure all facility assets are maintained appropriately and periodically evaluated for appropriate usage.
  • Manages, at the department level, loss, injury prevention programs, and compliance with environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Manages security, alarm, and fire suppression/detection systems and ensures compliance to applicable building, fire, electrical and mechanical system standards and codes.
  • Manages outside contractors and facility management services for properties; may provide oversight and assistance during capital projects at assigned sites.
  • Responsible for effective cost management associated with maintaining the facility, equipment and furnishings.
  • Assist the Director of Properties in the development of facility operations and maintenance policies.

Skills and Abilities Required

  1. Ability to comfortably and effectively interact with sisters, visitors and staff to provide desired level of customer service.
  2. Must be able to successfully facilitate ongoing communications with a committee of local sister residents and other stakeholders to fully ensure resident satisfaction.
  3. Ability to read architectural drawings, blueprints, labels, and installation and operation manuals.
  4. Proficiency in spreadsheet software applications.
  5. Thorough understanding of property management, building construction and related trades.
  6. Ability to travel as required, approximately 10-15% (initially it may be greater).
  7. Valid driver’s license in good standing required.  Proof of insurance required.

Education, Training and/or Experience

  1. A two (2) or four (4) year degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in a building trade, property management, or related field required.
  3. International Facility Management Association (IFMA) certification preferred.
  4. Fleet management experience preferred.
